Freyasday the 16th of Hells

Slay tells us that there is a black dragon ahead in our path. This black dragon is a pet of the Duke and sometimes attacks the Temple of the Oceans who fight back, but not to worry as it is a common event.

We have an uneventful first leg of the journey. After scouting ahead, Rodrivar returns to the group and announces that there are riders heading our way from the Temple of the Oceans. They appear to the guarded monks from the Temple, travelling. They tell us in passing that the road ahead of us to the Temple is safe, and they continue on their apparent supply run. We continue on our way. On our journey, I inquire of Slay as to him knowledge of Scolas. It turns out his brother Torval was an apprentice of Scolas, and had described his dealing with Scolas in letter to Slay/ Slay describes Scolas as being nice, forgiving and a reasonable individual. This gives me hope after my reading of the diary of Gord the Wanderer.

our party approaches the temple and speaks to a monk. It is revealed that Slay’s brother Torval was killed by a number of baby hydra that had been placed in his pocked as eggs. Torval apparently had put his hand into his pocket and was poisoned, and then died.’

We ask the monk to speak to Scolas. The monk arranges for us to have accomodation, and infers that a donation is requires from us to the Temple in exchange for its services. We are shown to our rooms which are more more than cells, and out horses are taken to the stables. We are then taken to the bursa’s office to give our contributions to the Temple. I offer up 500 gold pieces. The bursa is very grateful and offers to have my name engraved onto a plaque at the Temple. I tell him that I do not require any accolades, I am just happy to have the opportunity to speak with The Master. The bursa was most gracious and promised to inform Master Scolas
