A Little on the Twelve Torc’s

“…. each Tolv will be known by their might and the symbol of power about their neck will show all, for should they break faith their neck would surely be severed.  …....[1]

The Deities decided that each of the 12 Guardians would be gifted a magical item of power to assist them on their way. So the four great Smith’s of Asgard, Austri, Vestri, Nordri, and Sudri were given the task to design and produce such items. Each of the artefacts would be similar in power but as each was being gifted by a different deity each would be unique. Each deity would give of themselves a small part of their life force and in doing so gift some power unique in the world to their chosen.

So these Twelve Golden Torc’s of power were created each was imbued with:

  • life force,
  • knowledge of their purpose and
  • made as immortal as the gods themselves.

Each took a little of their deities’ essence.

 The Twelve Guardians were each bestowed upon them, by their Patron Deity a Magical Golden Torc!  Each torc unique in design, size, and power having some similar powers but then some unique to the owner.

A Golden Torc over many centuries by tradition has become the symbol of leadership and protection throughout the Lands. 

In some locations the Torc is even called a Tolve, the original name for the Twelve.
In the City of Newfeld they continue this tradition by bestowing a torc on the counsellors to denote their roll. In small towns a mayor or similar official may wear a simple torc of office, though if gold, it’s probably just paint.

Destruction of a Torc

These artifacts are imbued with some of their deity’s life force, as such their destruction is difficult.  It is thought they can only be
